Most of the content of Dragon Age Central has been developer posts to the official Dragon Age forums, first opened in May 2004. But all things must come to an end, and these forums were shut down on 2nd November 2009, the day before the game’s release in North America.
Since I haven’t had time to add much other content to the site for most of 2009, I’ve decided to also shut down Dragon Age Central as it was, leaving it here as an archive.
The new Dragon Age Central is now a much simpler (and fully automated) website dedicated to making developer posts to the new official forum (on Bioware’s social site) easier to find and search through.
It’s been interesting running this site, and in a way I’ll miss it... but hopefully I’ll be too busy finally playing the actual game to care :)

Forum posts were made by game developers. Please do not take posts out of context. While these individuals will have special insight into certain game-related questions, they are by no means the final authority. Nope, that's the trap, it works on the adventurer paranoia. You just have to pull them in order. People expecting it to be a trap and pulling another sequence will cause the room to lock down and poisonous gas will start filling it. |

Occasional stirring on low simmer, adding cubes of spiced nug til it's just right.

It's now five levers that you have to pull in order and they're conveniently labeled "One" to "Five".

My parents tell me that my Chinese name translates to "friendly oak (tree)". I'm not using that, EVER. |

Thread: Endgame... What Next? [+6]

No appreciation for creativity I'm telling you! Think about it, after the usual save the world gig, you retire and raise nugs, to feed the next generation of heroes. You'd have to take care of the nugs and make sure they're nice and juicy to feed the soldiers, but make sure they're not high in fat which can cause heart attacks. Maybe do the Japanese cow thing where they feed them beer and give massages. Set up your farm to make sure they have enough room to roam, and no holes for them to escape. And watch out for any darkspawn else your whole herd gets eaten. Or nug wranglers trying to steal your prize winning nugs. Hire helpers but watch out for the lazy bums named Stan. And cross-breed or in-breed them for good traits, like speed for the highly coveted Diamond Nug Bicentennial Race, or strength for arena pit battles. Then maybe have randomly occurring mutations so the nugs change colour and sell their skin for leather armour +1. Or if you're really good, end up with a replacement to the extinct griffons - have the next generation of Grey Wardens ride into battle on flying, fire-breathing nugs! Game of the Year idea right there man! |

You retire to a small farm and raise nugs. It'll be a mini-game like chocobo breeding.
Then Ferret kicked me out of his office. |

I'd rather have a "Make Module Awesome" button. But limit it to BioWare employees only. |

No. I'm going back to sleep, I can't believe I woke up for this. And on the L/R business, yes, the animators would hate us, because they'd have to deal with combat for RvR, RvL, LvL and LvR, it isn't a simple matter of mirroring the animations. Also, it's not just cosmetic, you should be getting slight bonuses or penalties to combat. People get used to interacting with one side and if you start swinging a sword to their sword arm, not their shield arm, they might not be able to defend as well. Look at baseball and the preference for left-handed players. And I'll end this with a quote from one of my favorite movies:
