Most of the content of Dragon Age Central has been developer posts to the official Dragon Age forums, first opened in May 2004. But all things must come to an end, and these forums were shut down on 2nd November 2009, the day before the game’s release in North America.
Since I haven’t had time to add much other content to the site for most of 2009, I’ve decided to also shut down Dragon Age Central as it was, leaving it here as an archive.
The new Dragon Age Central is now a much simpler (and fully automated) website dedicated to making developer posts to the new official forum (on Bioware’s social site) easier to find and search through.
It’s been interesting running this site, and in a way I’ll miss it... but hopefully I’ll be too busy finally playing the actual game to care :)

Forum posts were made by game developers. Please do not take posts out of context. While these individuals will have special insight into certain game-related questions, they are by no means the final authority. Please read the full topic and all its replies before forming an opinion. Remember, all things are subject to change.

A quick search of the words "Release date" would tell you the same thing I am about to say:
We do not yet have an exact release date. When we do, you'll be able to read about it here. Stay Tuned. LOCKDOWN! |

Yeah, release date speculation is kind of useless. We'll release more information when we have it to give you, and you'll see it on the main page and notifications in the forums. Thanks.
End of line. |

Thread: How many parts to DA series? [+0]
Date: Monday, 05 January 2009 06:49PM
Sorry, we don't know yet.
Currently we are focusing on Dragon Age Origins. Whatever comes after that... we'll see. It is too early to be talking about anything beyond DAO, so this gets closed now. LOCKDOWN! |

Date: Friday, 10 October 2008 04:43PM
Sorry, we've made no announcement yet regarding localized versions or international release dates. If and when this information becomes available (it will probably be discussed closer to the launch date), we'll make an announcement in the forums. Thank you.
End of line. |

Thread: E3 perhaps? [+8]
Date: Monday, 30 June 2008 03:31PM
Think of it this way, if you like: had we followed the normal way of things, you very likely wouldn't have even heard of Dragon Age yet. Rumours, maybe, but no official announcement and certainly no official forum to go to in order to whine about how long it's taking.
Do you think they just started work on Diablo 3, after all? Ignorance can indeed be bliss, I suppose. You might say you prefer it that way, but I don't know-- had we not announced DA by now it's very likely the keening whine of "You only make things for console! Waaah!" would have grown intolerable by now. And this way some of the fans have had a place to discuss it and throw in their two cents on issues while it still meant something. As for the rest, trust me-- when the valves are opened you'll see all you want and then some. Until then, we're hardly going to be taunted into hurrying up the process. I'm glad for Diablo 3-- good for them. Looks awesome! So does DA, for that matter, and you'll see that soon enough. |

Thread: Anything left to discuss? [+3]
Date: Wednesday, 05 March 2008 04:48PM
Yep, we understand it is frustrating and we love you* all for your patience and for sticking around until we can give you the real deal and get things going with Dragon Age. We know you don't really have much to go on yet, and all we can say is "It's coming soon" without being able to tell you when soon will be.
The problem for us is we do not want to do any mroe "little" starts. When it is time to discuss Dragon Age, we want to come out big time. No more little bits and such, we will launch Dragon Age to be the event pillar title BioWare knows it will be. Until then, you'll just have to be patient and wait. Trust me, it is going to pay off as "soon" as possible. * Chris Priestly does not love any of you. David Gaider is generally neutral, boarding on mild dislike to most of you. Stan Woo loves you all so much, you should likely get some sort of restraining order. |

Thread: The purpose of a forum [+0]
Date: Tuesday, 05 February 2008 11:45PM
Nope, we have made it very clear that we are not discussing release dates here yet. We close all these threads until such a time as it is ready to be discussed here. This is not exclusive to the Dragon Age forums, it is SOP for all of the BioWare forums. We feel it is better to close discussions on this topic than close the forum completely. If it makes you feel better, you can consider this forum an early forum or a teaser forum or whatever name you prefer.
If you want to discuss your idea for in-game reference material, which I think is a fine idea, then you can start a thread discussing that. Thanks. LOCKDOWN! |

Regardless of what you may think,
We are not allowing this discussion. You would think the previous locked threads would have explained that. DO NOT, start up a new topic about the release date. thx |
