I'm glad you liked the book overall, but I wanted to say something on this particular point of yours. The relationship wasn't put in just to add something controversial, as you put it -- I don't think gay characters need to be added only when it's vital to the story. That's just who they are: they're strong men and warriors, and yet still gay.
